Public Health Genomics: translating genomic advances into improved population health worldwide

Abstract: In the UK and the developed world we now have 15 years experience in Public Health Genomics - a field in which we bring a multi-disciplinary perspective to the active and responsible translation of new genomic knowledge and technologies to improve population health. In this seminar I will summarise key aspects of this work, provide illustrative examples of how our understanding and practice has evolved and go on to consider how this can be made relevant in lower and middle income countries.
