Financing your Studies
To carry out a three year PhD at the MRC Biostatistics Unit, you must obtain financial support to cover both the University and College fees and a maintenance stipend for the duration of your PhD. Details of these fees are available on the University's website.
UK National and UK Resident Applicants
Fully funded MRC studentships are available to successful applicants which include college and university fees and a stipend.
Other European Economic Area (EEA) Applicants
Partially funded MRC studentships are available to successful applicants which include college and university fees although in exceptional circumstance full MRC Studentships can be offered. Please contact phdstudy@mrc-bsu.cam.ac.uk for more details.
Non-EEA/ Overseas Applicants
Non-EEA applicants are not eligible for any MRC funding. However we welcome such applicants and may support your efforts to locate external sources of funding. However, we can as a Unit only support a limited number of these applications in any year and competition is expected to be extremely high. Please send us a full application pack as detailed in our application procedure which we will then consider BEFORE submitting any applications for funding naming the MRC Biostatistics Unit or any of it's staff. Failure to do so may result in your application to us for our support to be rejected.
Please refer to the MRC student eligibility criteria for further information.
Other funding options include:
- Cambridge University Funding
- External Funding
