  • Armitage Week activities (November 2011)
  • The MRC Biostatistics Annual Armitage Lecture and Workshop activities took place during the week 7th-11th November 2011. This year's Armitage Lecturer was Professor Jerry Lawless. Lawless is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Waterloo, Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. For full details of the 2011 Armitage Program please click here.

  • The Big Bang Eastern: Young Scientists & Engineers Fair (July 2011)
  • After having been a real favourite at the Body Talk section in the Big Bang fair held last March in London, members of the MRC Biostatistics and Human Nutrition Research Units showed again their successful joint interactive stand 'Are you really what you eat?' on Wednesday July 13th 2011 at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire.   • 34th Annual Research Student Conference in Probability and Statistics - RSC 2011 (April 2011)
  • The conference took place 4th-7th April 2011 in Cambridge.
    The RSC is open to PhD students or equivalent in any field relating to probability or statistics. or many students, RSC conferences are a first opportunity to present their research before an international audience.

  • Cambridge Science Festival (March 2011)
  • The MRC Biostatistics Unit (BSU) collaborated with Human Nutrition Research (HNR) to run an interactive stand based on body composition. 14 – 27 March 2011.

  • Armitage Lecture and Workshop 2010 (November 2010)
  • This event was held on Thursday 4th November 2010- Max Perutz Theatre, MRC LMB, Cambridge.
    The 8th Armitage Lecture, titled "Understanding Treatment Effects: The Value of Integrating Longitudinal Data and Survival Analysis", was given by Odd O. Aalen, Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Oslo; and Leader of the Centre for Biostatistical Modelling in the Medical Sciences (BMMS) at the Faculty of Medicine.
