We are delighted to announce that Professor Bhramar Mukherjee from the University of Michigan has been appointed an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at the BSU.
Bhramar is Chair of Biostatistics, Professor of Epidemiology and Professor of Global Health at the University of Michigan, and was recently elected to the US National Academy of Medicine.
Between September and December 2022, Bhramar took a sabbatical and spent 3 months at the BSU. During this time, she got to know the researchers at our Unit, took part in BSU events, gave seminars and developed new collaborations in the area of electronic health records, infectious disease modeling with BSU faculty and students.
Bhramar’s three-year appointment as an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow is fantastic and we are very excited that she has become part of our Unit.
Bhramar said:
“I am incredibly grateful for the collegiality and friendship of the MRC, BSU community. I really enjoyed my sabbatical at the unit in 2022 and felt an academic connection that I have never felt before. This new appointment will allow me to strengthen my ties with BSU through collaboration, mentoring, and allow me to be part of thesis committees. I want to thank Professor John Whittaker and all of my friends at BSU for making this opportunity possible. I am fortunate to be part of the BSU excellence.”
