The MRC Biostatistics Unit is delighted with the Warwick Statistics Department announcement that the 2014 John Copas Prize in Statistics sponsored by the Faculty of Science for the most outstanding thesis amongst those eligible for the PhD Completion Award has been awarded to Catalina Vallejos Meneses.
Catalina currently works as a “Career Development Fellow”, a joint appointment at the MRC Biostatistics Unit (BSU) and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI). At BSU she is a member of the Statistical Genomics research group led by Professor Sylvia Richardson.
Catalina is sharing the award with Lorna Barclay. “The panel awarding the Prize was very impressed by the quality of theses submitted and the decision between several excellent pieces of work this year was particularly difficult. Both Lorna and Catalina included material which led to several papers already published in very prestigious journals.” (Information originally published by the Department of Statistics at Warwick)
Congratulations to Catalina and Lorna!
