Abstract: The Bayesian framework offers powerful advantages in modelling complex data structures, uncertainty quantification, and incorporating prior knowledge and expert opinion. However, model development and implementation can be challenging for non-technical practitioners, and implementation of Bayesian models often requires extensive computation. In this talk, I will explore the role of Bayesian statistics in decision-making and addressing societal challenges with examples from COVID-19 and neglected tropical diseases.
