Many congratulations to Gianmarco Caruso on receiving a Wellcome Early-Career Award Fellowship.
Gianmarco has been working at the MRC Biostatistics Unit as a Research Associate since 2023 in the Efficient Study Design theme. His five-year Fellowship which will start in early 2027, will be focusing on: Estimation-Driven Adaptive Trials: A Framework for Balancing Design Efficiency with Reliable Estimation to Improve Clinical and Health Economic Decision-Making. He will develop new frequentist and Bayesian methods to improve the reliability of estimation in adaptive clinical trials while preserving their efficiency, so that the resulting evidence can better inform HTA, healthcare decision-making and policy development.
Being awarded the Fellowship is a fantastic achievement.
