I am a PhD student at the BSU (iCase studentship award in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline). Coming from a Natural Sciences background, I am interested in using statistical techniques to answer biological questions.
I have been investigating the bias in credible set coverage in Bayesian genetic fine-mapping, which is used to prioritise sets of putative causal variants. We have derived a method to correct for this bias, which will allow for the efficient allocation of resources in the follow-up wet-lab analysis of the prioritised variants.
For the remainder of my PhD I will be working on statistical methods for chromatin conformation data, for example to help link causal genetic variants to their target genes in a cell type and cell state specific manner. My personal webpage is available here: https://annahutchinson.com/
