Aadi Sharma is a first-year Ph.D. student funded by NIHR and the Herchel Smith Fellowship working under the MRC-BSU as well as the Biostatistics wing of the Haematology department. Advised by Ernest Turro, Will Astle, and Mattia Frontini, his focus is on applying Bayesian modelling approaches to studying multi-omics data from blood cells with a view towards uncovering etiologies of rare blood disorders. His research involves studying transcriptome-proteome correlation for understanding translation rate heterogeneity with the current work focused on increasing the sensitivity and accuracy of label-free proteomics data.
As an undergraduate, Aadi was trained as a pure mathematician at Williams College and the University of Oxford (B.A.) and later finished his post-graduate studies in pure mathematics at the University of Cambridge (M.A.St.) He also holds an M.Phil. in Computational Biology from the University of Cambridge.
