Role: Research Associate
Email Address: email@example.com
I am a Research Associate since January 2024 working with Dr Pavel Mozgunov within the Efficient Study Design theme of the BSU, and Dr Nikos Demiris, a lead statistician in the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit of the Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Half of my time I spend on the development of novel statistical methodology for early-phase dose-finding trials, and another half – on taking the cancer trials from initial ideas and design to their implementation in clinical practice.
Prior to my current role, I was a Data Science Intern at AstraZeneca Cambridge, where I worked on utilising advanced NLP methods to extract efficacy endpoints and patient populations from the scientific literature of oncology clinical trials for the purposes of drug benchmarking.
I obtained my PhD in Methodological Statistics from the University of Manchester in December 2023, where I was part of the Prediction Modelling Group within the Centre for Health Informatics. My research focused on the problem of missing data and their handling when developing, validating, and implementing clinical prediction models in health settings using routinely collected data. I was supervised by Dr Glen Martin, Dr Matthew Sperrin, Prof Niels Peek, Dr David Jenkins and Prof Iain Buchan.
During my PhD, I spent five months as a Visiting Researcher in Microsoft Research Cambridge working with Dr Stephanie Hyland, where I studied the impact of informativeness in observations due to changes in clinicians’ behaviour and the potential vulnerability of machine learning models during their deployment in health settings.
