I am a Research Associate at the MRC Biostatistics Unit, working under the supervision of Professor Daniela De Angelis. Our work will focus on developing novel statistical methodologies to understand the transmission of infectious diseases like COVID-19 and its burden on the population. We expect that this work will have an impact on policies made to minimize the disease burden. Previously, I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Statistical Geophysics from the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction, University College London (UCL). My doctoral thesis focused on developing Bayesian methodologies under the Epidemic Type Aftershock Sequence (ETAS) Model framework to improve earthquake forecasting at the initial period after the occurrence of a large earthquake. My research interests involve infectious disease modelling, self-exciting point processes, Hawkes process, and Bayesian analysis.
