I had the privilege of Shaun supervising my PhD from 2014-2018, and can’t say enough good things about my time working with him. He is a brilliant researcher in his own right, but truly an even better mentor, supervisor and person.
He was always fully committed to my success as a student, and I learned so much from his attention to detail and depth of knowledge. Most importantly, he gave me the freedom and support I needed to explore and learn on my own. I entered Cambridge as an inexperienced researcher unsure of what path to take, but left as a confident, independent academic in large part, I believe, due to Shaun. As a supervisor myself now, I aspire to give my own students the same positive experience that Shaun gave me.
