We are delighted to announce that Paul Kirk has been promoted to Principal Research Associate (full Programme Leader in MRC terms), recognising his outstanding work and contributions to the Unit’s research over the last few years.
Paul co-leads the Biostatistical Machine Learning theme, a new research theme at the BSU focused on cross-cutting, methodological research in machine learning, artificial intelligence and high-dimensional statistics. The theme will build upon the Unit’s current work in these areas, acting as a hub and working closely with other themes in the context of specific applied projects where these approaches are key.
Paul said:
"It is great to receive this recognition, on top of our successful MRC funding renewal earlier this year. It has taken a great deal of hard work, determination, and resilience to get to this point, and I am grateful to my group and everyone who has supported me and my career over the years. I look forward to building on this achievement and further developing the Biostatistical Machine Learning research theme at the BSU."
